On-time page! Whoo! Azuki gets a little bonus after taking a hit. But what use could those Private Tokens possible have?

Hikaru pays them no mind, and sets two cards. In a badass fashion, of course. Notice how he uses the TCG names for Lightsworns, so he also uses TCG game terms like Graveyard and Spell, etc, in exchange for Cemetery, Magic, etc.

EDIT: If you'll notice, I made small changes to the two previous pages.

Responses @RazorD9: Does Azuki use Synchros? Hmm, not too sure myself. But what she does with the tokens will hopefully be interesting.

@Sol: Well hey! Always nice to have a new fan! IMO, I really prefer custom cards to real TCG cards, because they're easier to draw. XD Hikaru gives me a lot of trouble!

5D's is definitely my favorite series too--Japanese version. The dub is probably the better of the YGO dubs, but still. At least we have official subs from them now.

EDIT: Did I just say that 5D's was the best dub? I need to be shot. Dunno what I was thinking there...
I suppose there's always time for Six Samurais to appear! There's ten Duel Agents in total and we only have seen three of them so far. Anything's game. C:

Hmmm, either a tribute for something big, or syncro for something sweet. Either way, hope it can stop his Lightsworn engine.

Aww, I'm at the end now. Great comic so far! I love Yugioh, and just happened upon this comic by chance. I love how you guys created your own cards and everything, and they would be perfectly fair to use in the real TCG in my opinion.

5D's has been my favourite Yugioh series so far (yes, even more so than the original). Talking about the Japanese version of course, 4Kids REALLY dropped the ball on the English dub.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this duel, since I'm quite fond of the Lightsworn archetype myself. My other favourite archetype are Six Samurais, heh. It'd be pretty cool if you had someone use a Six Samurai deck in here.

*blinks* Really? You think the 5D's dub is BETTER than the GX and Yugioh Dub? I think it's the worst dub of the three. I actually PREFER the English voices of the original Yugioh dub over the Japanese. I haven't seen the Japanese version of GX yet, but the GX dub voices didn't make me cringe like the 5D voices. And in the original Yugioh, at least they didn't vastly change the plot like they did in the 5D's dub, and the name changes they did make I actually liked. All of the name changes in the 5D's dub are stupid and made no sense in why they did it. Kalin Kessler instead of Kiryu Kiske? Lester instead of Lucciano? Akiza instead of Aki? Where did they come up with these ideas? And why did they think they needed to rename them? The only name change I didn't mind was changing Lua and Luka to Leo and Luna.

As for the official subs, alas, I cannot watch then, even though I'd like to. I'm from Canada, and Hulu doesn't broadcast outside the US. So, it's still fansubs for me.

Anyways, I'll stop cluttering your comments with my rants XD. I see you added me to MSN, so we can always talk there sometime ^_^.

I'm a little late this installment, it seems.

On an unrelated note, mostly every dub is just plain bad compared to the original, but especially Yu-Gi-Oh! GX dub and most especially Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds dub were the cream of the crop in terribadness. Seriously, don't watch that crap, not when there's youtube with fansubbed episodes of perfectly readable quality right around the corner.

On a less unrelated note, to editor-san - my comments are simply meant to illustrate that this story and comic are essentially pretty damn good, and could get even better. Trust me, if I didn't like your work, I wouldn't be commenting on it - I'm not paid for reviewing, so why would I spend time on something I don't even like?

On to the main subject. The drawing on this page was badass, I especially liked Azuki in panel 2 and the last panel, and Hikaru in panel 3 - that way of drawing and setting cards is perfect. Too bad we didn't get a sneak peek on what was sent to Hikaru's Graveyard. What level are the tokens summoned by Corporal?

Also, you mean that the rest of the characters will be using OCG names for real cards? As in, Lightlords except for Lightsworn etc? Plus points if so, OCG names are almost always better, except a few archetypes like LS, GBs etc.

So can we all just agree that YGO dubs are just destined to suck? Gah, that comment of mine was stupid. DZ (Well, 4Kids did uncut dub episodes 1-9 of DM, but yeah)

I tried out a new style of drawing on this page. The sketches that are laid down before the inking are more detailed, and I changed around how I did things a bit more. Like actually fixing mistakes. XD

And thanks, I've been looking through the manga (my collection of original, R, and GX) and testing out new poses for dueling. I don't think I "stole" these on this page from any one of them in particular, though.

The reason why we didn't see what was sent to Hikaru's Graveyard is simply because I wasn't provided them in the script. I can ask and see what they were, and see about adding them in. And the Private Tokens are level 1. Should probably add that in.

I would assume that everyone else would refer to them by OCG names. TCG names and terms just happens to be Hikaru's way of speaking.

Although it'd be a little confusing to have someone call it Lightsworn and then say Lightlord on the same page. XD But knowing us, we'd do that anyway.

Thanks again for your comments, and review. It's looking like this comic is just a home for long-winded comments. lol

Since according to you Azuki hasn't seen the Lightsworn before, it'd certainly be weird for her to be calling them anything other than what Hikaru calls them.

Ah well, I just assume they aren't key cards since there should always be that devious "just as planned" expression on the duelist's face when something important to his strategy happens.
